One of the teachers at my school had a very difficult week last week with the passing away of her mother.  The good news is that they are from a Christian family and they were able to spend time with her all together for her last few days at hospice, talking, singing hymns and sharing memories.  The funeral is tomorrow at my church, please pray that many people from my school and community will be touched by the message at the funeral and for the Christ-like example this extraordinary woman was in life.  If only we could all have such a peaceful passage to see our Lord someday!

On another note, I would appreciate your prayers for another teacher at my school who teaches social studies.  He and I have been talking lately about a lot of deep philosophical issues that center around God and the Bible and Truth.  He believes in humanism and existentialism, saying that there are no absolutes, not even God, although he will admit that if there is a God, there would have to be many gods to fit all the different god personalities in the Bible and other religious readings.  He is a student of the philosophers of "reason" and wants to share all his ideas and learnings with me.  I have to admit, I'm a little rusty in these areas, so I've started some research and had some good conversations with my dad about this stuff, but if anyone has some good thoughts or advice for me, that would be great.  I'm going to start reading some of the stuff by Francis Schaffer, and read up on some of the philosophical teachings out there so I know what he is talking about next time, but I would also appreciate your prayers in this too.  Thanks everyone!
