Well, life has been busy but good lately. Here are some updates for you all about what's going on around here:
-I was honored as one of the top three Teachers of the Year in Pasco County a few weeks ago - a nice ceremony that I'm really glad is over since I was very nervous and stressed out about the whole thing. You know me, I'd much rather work backstage putting makeup and beards on people than being onstage in a nice dress making a fool of myself. :) But fortunately it went well and now I get to happily teach in anonymy for a while.
-Abby Tompkins, my soon-to-be sister-in-law, had a really awesome wedding shower at my parent's house - way to go Shallon, Heidi and Mom for setting it up! Andy and Abby will be married in May up in Indiana in case any of you didn't know. :)
-I've had multiple opportunities to talk about God lately at my school with teachers and students - many are really interested in the Easter Production, "Jesus, Behold the Man." One of my students accepted Jesus as his Savior recently and asked me where he could get a good Bible and how can he learn more about God... pray that he will be open to Word of Life someday.
-Keep praying for my friend at school who is a staunch existentialist. The more and more I talk with him about God, the more he talks himself out of it, and really convincingly too, I might add. I need a lot of prayer to know what to say at the right times. I feel so inadaquate when I talk with him, like why does God bother using me when I'm sure there's someone a lot more knowledgable in the areas of philosopy and theology than me. Sometimes I feel like giving up, so please pray.
-I have dibs on a really cute puppy that's only three weeks old right now... she won't be ready for me to take her until she's about 8 weeks old. She's a german shepard/black lab/leopard something-or-other type mix mutt, but she's all black with one little patch of white on her chest and has blue eyes. Some people are giving me advice not to get a puppy, but others think it will be good for me. What do you all think?
